Beccles library meet up: Dragons theme
July 24 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
There will be three areas of activity – drawing, junk model making and lego. I’ll pre-book some books addressing that month’s theme (you’re welcome to too!) and the children will also be encouraged to have a look in the library for books. Then we’ll spend a couple of hours drawing, sticking or building and at the end the children are welcome to have their picture taken with their creation. I’ll provide an option to digitally add this photo to a certificate which will be emailed to the parent so they can file it or print it out. For older children, this could be an opportunity to meet new friends, maybe head out to the market (Beccles market runs on Fridays), the shops or the shelter beside Wetherspoons and hang out for a couple of hours knowing their parents are fairly nearby – great if parents need to be with younger siblings.
Come along and see who’s there – the room is completely see-through so you can nonchalantly wander into the library, see what we’re up to in there and then choose whether to come in.
This is a free event, but not a drop off. Parents will need to be responsible for their children – the library room is a great space for socialising, but sadly is not appropriate for boisterous or loud behaviour. I am checking to see if we’ll have access to the outside space to the side of the library if children need to let off steam.
